14 Fave Featured Wedding Photos of 2020

Just in case you missed any, this round up of our fourteen fave featured wedding photos of 2020 will bring you bang up-to-date! Usually we would look forward to sharing a barrage of brand spanking new stuff, but weddings fast became rarer than unicorn poop. So in-between the lockdown home workouts, park runs and boozy Zooms, we were still very excited to get some fresh photos (and some old faves) recognised. Whatever the weather, awards and features are always amazing. Perhaps more than ever though, the opportunity to take part in wedding photography competitions in 2020 offered a welcome reminder of the glorious fun times!

The Rona brought many new challenges for small businesses and the wedding industry. However it should come as no surprise to discover that we will not be retraining as ‘stunt performers’ or ‘football referees’. As the saying goes, wedding photography is for life not just for Christmas folks. So getting featured this year and bagging some mega awards doing our thang tasted even sweeter than your new speciality banana bread. Massive thanks goes out to This Is Reportage, Fearless Photographers and Your Perfect Wedding Photographer for spreading the love in tough times for us togs. Sending super-sized virtual hugs to all our awesome couples, precious family and friends for your continued support too!

Fearless Photographers – Flashback May 4th 2019

Owning the dancefloor at your best mates wedding should probably be on your bucket list. These guys totally nailed it!  Epic nights will no doubt return, but in the current climate these party time photos seem even more poignant. We can literally still hear this capture so clearly from Sarah and Chris’ wedding day. Maybe that’s why this photo was also selected for the YPWP Pure Documentary collection too!

Fearless Photographers – Wedding Guests

Capturing you and your guests enjoying the day is what it’s all about, right? Hanging out with the gang and getting in close allows us to get super cool, action-filled frames such as this one with Andrea and Dan’s crew. The tequila was flowing big style to toast the happy couple in less virusy times. Pinched pink tie ftw!

Fearless Photographers – Let’s Dance

Wild dancing photos are so much fun. This is another image we can hear (is that possible?) and a classic ‘name that tune’ moment! When it’s close to midnight, we love a bride who tears up the dancefloor. Andrea has most definitely got the moves and she ain’t afraid to show it.  

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Collection 2 Getting Ready

Prepping with the bridal party is always a blast. Documenting the pre-wedding shenanigans is a great way to start the wedding day story. Here Sarah gets a helping hand from Mum and Sis, cue mucho hilarity! We’ll take these real moments shared with your nearest and dearest over a posed cheese-fest any day.

Fearless Photographers – Here They Come

Us Brits have a rep for keeping a stiff upper lip. But let’s be honest guys, there are times when it is perfectly acceptable to cry. Weddings, the Sean Bean battle scene in Lord of The Rings and Toy Story 3 are all fair game in our book. So big respect to Nick for these emotional tears of joy (and check out that biblical barn light).  

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Collection 3 Dad Moments

Dads are special. So do yourself a solid and make sure they know it, especially if you haven’t seen them in a while. Making your Pops mega proud is a wedding day bobby bonus. All dressed up and ready to roll, Bex’s Dad was about to have his box-fresh socks blown clean off! Anticipating a genuine reaction is really exciting and this one was a goldie.

Who has been brushing up on their dancing skills in lockdown? We are all really missing those big party nights like this one. Busting moves with the awesome New York Brass Band was a belter. It’s gin o’clock at Liz and Nick’s wedding and the guests are clearly loving every minute! Cheers!

Is there anything more life-affirming than the sight of your nanna having a nice old wedding rave-up? (Nanananana nana nanana nanana!) That might be one of the reasons James’ disco diva gran was selected for the YPWP Party Moments collection. Proof there are no age-limits on shaking it like a polaroid picture! Legend.

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Collection 5 Emotional Moments (x2)

Roll back the clock for this joyous wedding top table scene from yester-year. Fran and Michael, with several households, all mixing together, sharing laughs, hugs and kisses. It was impossible to imagine that such gatherings might one day be considered a crime. Apparently over 220,000 UK weddings were postponed in 2020, that’s a whole lotta love in lockdown-limbo.

In between lockdowns, some trail-blazers like Lauren and Stuart still got wed in 2020. The country and the cake were in tiers, but a raft of new COVID-safe protocols made some micro weddings possible. Hurrah, back in the game! The introduction of face masks made for some really interesting and powerful images too (and foggy viewfinders, if you know you know).

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Best of 2020 (x3)

First of three photographs featuring in the YPWP Best of 2020 collection is Lauren and Stuart. Here’s what they said about us: “Zo and Liam completely captured the essence of our day in amongst all the natural magical moments – looking at the photos we relive how we felt on that day. We have had so many comments on how amazing the photos are and how different they are to the usual wedding photos which is why we chose ZT Photography!” We love ya guys!

In December 2020 Blackpool seafront was closed for business. But the Wedding Chapel still offered a glimmer of hope for those looking to the tie-the-knot. Only fifteen guests were allowed to attend these intimate ceremonies. After FIVE failed wedding attempts, it was sixth-time-lucky for Clare and Aidy who finally got hitched in the Vegas of the North!  

In a pandemic we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have been involved in any weddings last year. But just because the crew numbers were capped, it doesn’t mean that you can’t still rock up to the ceremony in style. This beaut yellow classic Beetle was Clare’s choice of wedding day wheels.
