14 Featured Photographs of 2019

As photographers, keeping your work fresh and exciting means to try new things, stay creative and learning all the time. So it’s always amazing when our work is recognised to win awards. Getting featured on awesome sites is great exposure too. It’s also a way of getting the world to see our stuff. So here’s a roundup of our fourteen fave featured photos of the year 2019. Lots of fun and laughs, but soz, still no flying wedding cars or robot waiter service yet!

But before we start, a few biggies that deserve a special mention include the This Is Reportage Award, Professional Photo Magazine Street Portraiture Winner and two images in the Your Perfect Wedding Photographer Best of 2019 collection! Mega proud of all these and hi-fives again to all our fab couples, because you rock!

This Is Real Romance Collection – This Is Reportage

For Valentine’s Day, This Is Reportage were celebrating natural romantic wedding moments. As Rachel’s bridal party prepare to jump in their taxi to Manchester Hall, her parents share this parting kiss. Heart then appeared on the screen. Anticipating the emotion of a scene is not always easy, but we love to capture the sweet moments that make a wedding story.

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Real Moments Collection

Chucking some celebratory confetti at the newlyweds is great fun. Fact. But the stuff really does get everywhere. So after an epic confetti shot at Heaton House Farm, even Lynsey was surprised when Gran loudly announced the confetti-cleavage situation. Sharing a laugh with your family will always make a more special photo than the ‘grip-and-grins’.

This Is Now Collection – This Is Reportage

Wedding games are awesome. They keep guests entertained and create some fab photo ops. This colourful Mexican-inspired wedding at The Hall At Marthall would not have been complete without whacking a piñata. We love to get in close to capture the action, sometimes even risking a bash on the head (if sweets are involved).

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Fun and Bright Collection (x3)

City centre weddings are always fun to shoot because the gritty city backdrop and a wedding crew make a really cool combo. Making time to nail a few epic portraits around the Manchester back streets is always well worth it too. #weddinggoals right there!

Sarah and Chris’ super-bright and colourful décor was a treat for the eyes. After the delish Mexican grub and numerous tequila toasts, it was time to go wild on the dancefloor. Capturing you and your guests enjoying the party and having fun is what it’s all about, right? Arriba!

We love pizza. You love pizza. Rach and Tony love pizza! If there are any pizza-related photo opportunities, count us in. Super-cool urban couple shots should be relaxed, fun and colourful. Triple check!

This ap-peel-ing photograph is officially our first This Is Reportage Award. Woop woop! As only the very best documentary images make the cut, we are really proud of this one. So proud there’s a special blog post dedicated to it. Read on.

When it comes to the careful retrieval of dress from upon high, two bridesmaids is often better than one. We tend to avoid traditional dress-hanging-in-window style photos, because they’re a bit static, right? Weddings should be about celebrating the people. Here an interesting angle and a couple of Rach’s best mates create a far more interesting frame.

Most wedding mornings begin hanging out with the bride squad to capture the excitement building. Getting ready is all part of your story. No posing here, just real documentary wedding photography, real moments as they happen. That includes the laughs, the fizz and sharing ‘leg day’ secrets.

Choon! If it gets the bridesmaids tearing up the dancefloor, it’s all good with us. We loved partying with Dawn’s ‘maids at Hengrave Hall. For full day coverage on your wedding day, we’re going nowhere when it’s going off.

Professional Photo Magazine – Street Portraiture Winner

Magazines may not be as popular as they once were. But there’s still something special about getting featured in print form. According to the judging panel, this ‘was a clear winner’. So we really can’t wait to find out who will win the overall Portrait Photographer of the Year competition now. Eeek!

Your Perfect Wedding Photographer – Best of 2019 (x2)

Johnny Cash is a legend. If we can include a musical genius in your wedding photos then we probably will do. How cool is it that the Man in Black decided to join the busy bridal party.

You can officially add castle weddings to our list of favourite things for 2019. This is the moment Dan’s groomsmen are captured making their rocky decent from the medieval keep. Because all the layers create a really dynamic frame, we love it. Plus, air-time ftw!
