BIPP North West Award Winning Photographer 2016

It was the annual British Institute of Professional Photography‘s North West region awards event last month.  With lots of coveted commendations up for grabs, once again there was a good turnout at the recently refurbished Dukes 92, Manchester.

There are so many talented and inspirational photographers in the area and judges decide the awards for sixteen different categories covering all aspects of professional photography.  With the competition being such a seriously high level, we took a very long time carefully selecting our entries. But on a night like this, being satisfied with your complimentary drinks and luxury buffet was everyone’s only real guarantee.

This year Capital FM presenter Ben Sheppard was our event host. While the proceedings got underway, we waited patiently near the back of the room for our categories to be announced…

AWARD WINNING CREATIVE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

We are over the moon to reveal that it turned out to be an unprecedented night for ZT Photography!  Zo won a grand total of eight awards, including Creative Weddings Gold Award, Creative Portraits Gold Award and the Judges Choice: Social Award!  To receive such amazing recognition was truly a complete surprise and far beyond our wildest expectations – but after so much hard work and dedication, we can always be very proud of these achievements.  Oh yeah!

A massive congrats goes to all the winners on the night, since all hugely well deserved! Also, of course none of these special moments would have been possible without the amazing couples we are so fortunate to work with. You guys had faith in our vision and most of all trusted our instincts, so thank you for being awesome! We look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of conventional wedding photography, telling your unique stories in our own special way.

A black and white portrait of an emotional groom at Heaton House Farm

REPORTAGE WEDDING – MERIT

“Emotion”

This beautiful moment is from Chris and Lynsey‘s amazing wedding day at Heaton House Farm.  Chris had already told us he was not sure he could keep his composure at the altar and when Lynsey lit up the room, all the nerves disappeared replaced by tears of pure happiness – respect.

Bride in her bespoke wedding dress by Legend Bridal Design at Meols Hall in Southport

CREATIVE WEDDING – MERIT

“Dave the deer”

Laura and Paul’s contemporary Nordic themed wedding took place at Meols Hall.  Every detail had been carefully planned by the couple, which included their prized possession ‘Dave’ the deer head.  Laura belted out this awesome celebratory roar in honour of her style-inspiration Daenerys Targaryen. Because Laura had told us she can most definitely ‘do’ bad ass.

Groom and his groomsmen jumping at Ashfield House in Wigan

CREATIVE WEDDING – MERIT

“Elevation”

Shelley and Glenn’s marriage was at Ashfield House. They were keen to try anything for their photographs to be as unique as possible. We had planned to make full use of the grounds and Glenn and his groomsmen were certainly up for this challenge. So after a few hilarious ‘takes’ we captured this uplifting shot.

Groom standing in the sunset at Beeston Manor in Lancashire

CREATIVE WEDDING – MERIT

“Sundown”

We were fortunate to see another beautiful sunset at Beeston Manor on Claire and Chris‘ wedding day.  While exploring we had found this amazing rusty Leyland Super Comet truck. In the last few moments of daylight, Chris unfastened his jacket watching the sun go down,  getting ready to party. Effortlessly cool.

Creative wedding bride and groom in front of clampdown records in Manchester city centre

CREATIVE WEDDING – GOLD

“Clampdown”

Jennie and Chris‘ city wedding was at The Place Hotel, Manchester. We knew that they wanted to make use of the surrounding areas. We found a nearby record store that as music fans, they would love.  The scene was set and Jennie and Chris did the rest. Sometimes these things just turn out even better than you hoped.

what would life be without colour photograph

CREATIVE PORTRAIT – GOLD

“What would life be without colour?”

It was Melissa and John’s pre-wedding Me and You Shoot in Blackpool where we found this colourful backdrop. An awesome contrast due to Melissa’s long blonde hair.  It was a bright, windy day and this fabulous ‘in-between’ moment became one of our favourite frames from the shoot.

WEDDING ALBUM – MERIT

So if you haven’t already heard, we’ve recently upped our wedding album game. Now offering three choices for our couples, each pretty special in their own way.  Our premium wedding books have a luxurious leather or linen cover, super thick pages and lay-flat binding. Each book is a unique, hand-crafted labour of love. Every page is carefully designed to tell the amazing story of our couples wedding day.

JUDGES CHOICE: SOCIAL AWARD

Finally, just as we thought the night could not have been any more exciting…To receive a Judges Choice Award was a huge honour and the icing on a very large, tasty cake.
