You may have never hired photographers before, so most importantly find a style that reflects your personalities. Why should your wedding photographs look like everyone else’s? Because you are not like anyone else! Our contemporary documentary approach is relaxed, fun and creative…all the cool stuff!
If you love our work, style and approach then…yaaay! There’s probably also some key things you would like to know, all hopefully covered here in our ‘Most Asked Wedding Photography Questions’ feature.
WHAT ARE THE MOST ASKED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS WE HEAR?
There are some frequently asked questions that often come our way. So (read in an Obi-Wan style), these are the answers you’re looking for:
Check out our featured stories page and the journal for recent weddings and photos. If you’d still like to see some full wedding galleries, just ask. We’re happy to share full wedding photography galleries as it’s a grand opportunity for you see more of our story-telling style. Be sure to check out some of our amazing reviews too! Yahoooo!
It’s a question that is asked a lot and we’re gonna be honest here…it doesn’t really matter. What’s more important is to find a photography style that you love and reflects your personalities, to find the photographers you connect and gel with. If we’re those photographers, then…awesome!
We love to explore new places and new venues offer a refreshing change of scenery. One of the best things about shooting at new locations is approaching things with a fresh set of eyes. We often find that a fresh view point can actually be extremely inspiring. In our opinion, not having shot at your venue before is no biggie when choosing your wedding photographer.
So, in a nutshell, don’t worry about it. We always get the most from new and exciting locations. A different creative perspective will ultimately mean your photographs are less likely to look like everyone else’s…all good news for you!
The one thing no-one can guarantee is the weather, especially for UK weddings. Heatwave, rain, heatwave, rain, gaaaah!?! We can definitely all be prepared though. So don’t worry, we won’t dissolve in the rain and always have our brollies and welly boots nearby, just in case.
So if it is raining on your wedding day, let’s not pretend it isn’t. Let’s keep it real, everything is still going to be amazing! We just ask, you embrace the day whatever the weather. After all, it’s all about the people really! We love an awesome wedding crew ready to brave the elements!
Traditional family line-ups have been happening at weddings since the beginning of time. Although most of our couples would prefer to skip the formalities, if you do want to stay in the grandparents good books, of course we would make time for family photographs. We recommend you keep it to 4-5 groups tops, because rounding up people may take longer than you think. We know you would rather we were getting all the awesome documentary shots happening (and us too)! So we will confirm your ‘set list’ when we chat before the big day and get those few family mantelpiece shots ticked off as efficiently as possible.
Don’t worry, we will get the bride squad and groomsmen involved in something else a bit more fun, if you like. Group shots really don’t have to be boring or cheesy! Let’s talk record sleeve style coolness and belly laughs.
Some venues and caterers will look after us photographers very well. You only need to tell them we’ll be there for the day and they’ll keep us happily fed and watered.
Of course if you insist on making sure your favourite photographers receive the VIP treatment, it’s a long day so it would be very much appreciated.
However, we never expect you to provide food for us. It’s certainly not a contractual obligation of ours and we will always have enough grub to keep us going regardless (probably an emergency scotch egg or pork pie too).
One of the wedding photography questions we hear a lot…and it’s ok. Have a good look through our featured weddings gallery. These are all real weddings with most of the day shooting real moments, documentary style. Some of these couples had felt the same but with our relaxed, easy going approach (and a little bit of direction) we nailed some epic couple shots too! So if you want a portrait session, there’s no need to worry. No awkward posing necessary. It’s painless, we promise!
If you would like to experience what it is like to be in front of our cameras before the big day, you might consider a Me and You Shoot. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, have some fun and get some awesome photographs!
