Five Top Pre-Wedding Shoot Tips

There are plenty of reasons to consider having a pre-wedding shoot as a couple before your big day. Firstly, how many times have you been on a professional shoot together? Think about how many decent photographs you actually have together. Countless selfies and those taken by a multi-skilled waiter on holiday? Maybe you are a little camera-shy; or maybe you have watched Zoolander one too many times?

Well forget any of those cheesey studio photos you might have seen – by now you know that’s not our style. For us a pre-wedding shoot is about creating an awesome set of photographs, a great opportunity for you to shed any nerves you might have and we also get to spend some time together before the big day. It’s a chance for you to get used to the idea of being in front of our cameras, see how we work, but most importantly a chance for us to have some fun together – that’s why we call our pre-wedding sessions ‘Me and You Shoots‘ – capturing a special moment is as much about you as it is us.

Still not convinced? Well our couples who have invested in a Me and You Shoot always come back and say how much more relaxed they were on the big day having already had a mini-rehearsal with us. Anyway, when is having some fun and making memories ever a bad idea?

PRE-WEDDING SHOOT TIPS

So now you are up for it; the question is where should we go? The options are almost endless, so here’s our five top pre-wedding shoot tips to help you pick your perfect location:

1. Go city chic

There’s so much to love about a city centre photoshoot. The gritty textures, graffiti walls, urban architecture, amazing shafts of light. This might be is a complete contrast to the countryside wedding you have planned, or maybe a vibe that just suits your personalities and style. So rock it!

Loreen and Glynn chose Manchester’s Northern Quarter for their city chic Me and You Shoot.

2. Go green

If you love the sea air or a walk in the woods with epic open spaces and breathtaking views, this could be worth thinking about. We could go up in the hills, get lost in a forest or explore the coastline. Natural colours can also look totally different in the changing seasons. So throw a couple of hot potatoes in the mix (that’s you) and we’ll have a ball!

Claire and Chris chose Liverpool Castle, Rivington for their green Me and You Shoot.

3. Go somewhere special

Places can be special for lots of different reasons. The place you met; the place of your engagement; your first date; an area where you used to live. Think about a location that has a special meaning to you both (you don’t have to tell us why, we know the score). If you love your surroundings, they’ll surely love you back!

4. Go for it

If you have something more unusual in mind then let you imagination run wild, we would love to hear your ideas. A trip to the fairground, a colourful paint party, having a splash in the sea. Because the rules are made to be broken. As pre-wedding shoot tips go, this is one of our faves!

Fun couple photos

5. Go destination

We love to travel and if you have something overseas in mind, then let’s have an adventure together! There are some amazing places to explore out there and if you want to do something that little bit extra special on your wedding journey – a romantic old town, a gorgeous coastline or an awesome iconic city can become your epic memorable backdrop.
