Picture this. It’s Feb 2020 and music lovers from all over the North West are starting to get excited. ‘Isolation’ is still just a song by Joy Division and in a few weeks’ time Revival Music Festival will return, bigger and better than ever before. Revellers had no idea the plug was about to be pulled on all live music events, but tickets were still selling faster than loo-rolls in a lockdown. These lucky punters had unknowingly bagged themselves a rare 2020 festival fix. We were there to soak up the sounds and capture all the action!
FEELING SOAPERSONIC AT REVIVAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2020!
For those that don’t know, Revival Music Festival showcases some of the nation’s best indie/rock tribute bands, playing only the certified classics. Back in Blackpool for a third year running, Revival is a joyous celebration of the stadium-fillers from the nineties and noughties. We had a blast as the official festival photographers last year, so we knew #RVL2020 was going to be a good ‘un.
IT’S INDIE ROCK’N’ROLL FOR ME
The two-day line-up was a mix of fresh bands and a few familiar faves too. Friday night at Revival Festival was again a selection of America’s finest rock stars and Saturday was reserved for the best of British bands. Local boys ToFu Fighters and Parka Monkeys were mega. We were also really looking forward to some awesome sets from Stereotonics, Hot Red Chilli Peppers and Kazabian. Headline acts The Kopycat Killers and Oasish deservedly topped the bill with brilliant ‘close-your-eyes-and-you’re-back-at-wembley’ performances.
We have all been dreaming of our next gig beer and a boogie with our buddies. So we have also made this banging festival flashback playlist for your staying-in party nights too! Music will get us through and when this is all over, let’s enjoy and appreciate the good times even more than before. Stay safe, Z+L X
