Revival Music Festival 2023

Festival season has begun, it’s official folks! Revival Festival 2023 has landed to satisfy all your live musical needs. Two days, NINE bands, plenty of booze and lots of fun. Revival brings together a top line up featuring some of the best tribute bands in the land, performing your fave 90’s and 00’s belters!

Back at the Castle in Blackpool, the festival showcase keeps on growing better for the fans too. New cool merch, new lighting set-up, big screen stage cams, awesome sound techs, and also even tasty sponsors Dirty Blondes and Burgerhain on board (well jel if you sampled their delights).

Friday Fun Times at Norbreck Castle

This year’s opening act were Iffy Clyro. The Blackpool-based Biffy fans look the part and kicked off the busiest Friday night to date. The big singles were all there and unsurprisingly hit the hardest.

Next up were Kings of Leighon. The faux-Followill’s sound great and have a banging set of singalongs that spans the albums. Drummer’s wig impressively does not slip an inch, even after pelting out an epic Sex on Fire. Kings of the castle once again.

Local lads, and Revival regulars, ToFu Fighters then took to the stage with a high energy set. Swigging whiskey from the bottle Grohl-style, and churning out the classics. They looked to really enjoy the show and sounded better than ever.

Day one headliners were Ultimate Green Day, complete with infamous drunken pink bunny intro. (You will have to buy us a beer before we reveal who that was!) The three-piece band bring a huge stadium rock sound. One lucky punk was even invited on stage to sing. Best Friday Revival Fest yet!?

Revival Festival Saturday Session

Saturday started with a refreshing Revival first, a female artiste taking centre stage, Alanis Moreorless. Also surely ‘best band name of the weekend’ award? The sell out crowd loving all the Jagged Little Pill era tunes. One hand in my pocket and the other, erm, taking your photo…

Any groggy-head latecomers will have missed the return of Revival faves Parka Monkeys. Serving up their awesome ‘Manchester Special’ set of non-stop top covers from The Stone Roses, James, Courteeners and more. So look out for future tour dates around the North West.

It was great to see last year’s crowd faves Red Hot Chilli Peppers UK back again. These guys can really play and sound amazing. The set packs in hits from throughout the last three decades. Also check out girl-Flea’s party pantaloons!

The crowd are buzzing by the time Kazabian take the mantle. Original line up formation, but armed with new album ammunition on the set list. Very loud and energetic, they’ve nailed the moves and the attitude, and it sounds empire!

Saturday bill-toppers were Oasish. Some might say they are everything you could hope for in a quality tribute band. The clothes, the sound and the swagger are all there. It’s a mega singalong-athon for the mad for it crowd, to close the show in raucous style.
