WHAT IS STREET PHOTOGRAPHY?

Have you noticed the rapidly increasing interest in street photography recently? This is most likely thanks to its online accessibility and a photo sharing boom through social media. Hashtag winning! The black and white classics will always be an inspiration, but a more modern and diverse approach has evolved. For that reason it’s difficult to define exactly what street photography is, but essentially it’s the art of life photography. That’s what really makes the genre so intriguing and inspiring. (But ‘street’ sounds way cooler, right?)

Street photos are usually in public places, but they can happen anywhere. Personally, for us street photography is about exploring, observing, people watching, never knowing what you might find and searching for the unexpected moments. It means creating interesting and vibrant frames with light, colours and composition. These images are always natural and totally unposed. Photographing the unstaged world is in some way a celebration of humanity and modern times. But we also love the buzz of finding interesting scenes and creating bold visuals.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY INSPIRED BY THE STREETS

Our approach to street shoots resonates with our wedding photography style too. Fully embracing our street inspiration, a wedding gallery is mainly shot documentary-style. An exciting set of dynamic story-telling images, made up of the big and small moments. Real, genuine frames full of character and feeling. Some up-close in the action to capture the energy and emotion of a scene; and others more artistically composed candid or joyous, fun moments. We treat our street projects in basically the same way.

The streets will forever be our play ground for experimentation. Always learning and with endless possibilities to keep creating. So we are very excited about sharing more of our street projects.
