One of the weddings we often get asked about is Maria and Ricky’s awesome Whitebottom Farm wedding party! That one with the red Mini’s. The one that featured on Festival Brides. That one with the cow sheds, home of the Blackthorn Music Festival. Well, to proudly quote one of the finest tunes to come out of Manchester, “This is the one!” So we thought it’s about time we shared some more of our fave photographs from an epic festival wedding.
DANSONBURY! THE EPIC COW SHED FESTIVAL WEDDING
Leading up to the big day Maria and Ricky’s secret Facebook wedding group kept us entertained and up-to-date with all things ‘Dansonbury’. We also had the insider info about the incredible line-up of live acts. Because the massive music fans had booked a real festival style schedule of local talent. Plus the transformation of Whitebottom Farm, from working cow shed to an ultra cool vibrant, colourful wedding barn was going to be amazing! All very exciting stuff.

The ceremony took place at Stockport Town Hall. So in the morning, we met the bridal party at a nearby hotel. The oh-so familiar noise of the classic Mini engines could be heard from their rooms as the North Manchester Classic Mini Club convoy arrived. (More Mini’s at weddings please, because we love them!) After a fab music-filled ceremony we all followed the handmade Dansonbury signposts to the Whitebottom Farm festival site in Etherow Country Park, where the welcoming party had gathered.
FESTIVAL VIBES AND A MINI ADVENTURE
With bags of Glasto-inspired style the cow shed was almost unrecognisable. The Dansonbury festival wedding barn was amazing! So unique, colourful and full of character. The stage was set for the live artists to perform and music played until the early hours. There were comfy sofas and hay bales for chilling. Even the mega ‘Great British Bake Off’ inspired cake contest looked too good to eat. These guys sure know how to party! After dancing till dawn and rolling around in the hay, there were plenty of cosy bell tents for guests to stay the night too.
Here’s also a taste of the classy soundtrack from the day. If you were lucky enough to be there, you’ll love it because this playlist is sure to bring back some amazing memories! If not, why not turn it up to eleven and we hope you enjoy some of our fave frames. (Should there ever be a Dansonbury Festival reunion, we defo want tickets! We reckon you will too?)
